About Me

I am a psychologist and an engineer: An unusual combination that has enabled me to contribute to the design and analysis of research projects as both a scientist and a technical expert. Prior to joining the UW faculty I founded a contract research organization in Germany that provided statistical consulting and clinical trial execution for multi-national pharmaceutical companies. Recently, as a core member of the "Integrated Brain Imaging Center" (IBIC), I've used my statistical and programming skills to support the design, execution and analysis of research projects across academic boundaries ( Radiology, Psychiatry, Education, Nursing, Psychology, Music, Speech & Hearing, etc). I provide support for MR imaging researchers whose data require special handling and I lead a technical innovation group (DIGIT) within IBIC that incorporates generic versions of these solutions into useful software products.
